outages.uk brings together live power cut information published by every electricity distribution network operator (DNO) in Great Britain, in one place. We refresh this data every 10 minutes.

outages.uk is not affiliated with any Distribution Network Operator (DNO), the Energy Networks Association, or the 105 service. Each incident shown here links back to its originating operator, and restoration times are that operator's own estimate, not a guarantee.

If your power is off right now, the fastest way to report it or get an update is to call 105, free, any time.

Which networks we cover

We report live data from all six Great Britain electricity distribution network operators: UK Power Networks, National Grid Electricity Distribution, Northern Powergrid, SP Energy Networks, Electricity North West, and Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks. We don't currently support NIE Networks in Northern Ireland — they don't publish a live outage feed we can plug into.

We also don't cover Independent Distribution Network Operators (iDNOs) — smaller operators that maintain the network for specific developments, business parks, or new housing estates, rather than a whole region. If you're not sure who manages your connection, your electricity bill or the Energy Networks Association's operator finder will tell you. The current iDNOs are Advanced Electricity Networks, Aurora Utilities, Eclipse Power Networks, Energy Assets Networks, ESP Utilities Group, Fulcrum, Green Gen Cymru, GTC, Harlaxton Energy Networks, Independent Distribution Connection Specialists, Indigo Power, Last Mile Asset Management, Leep Utilities, mua Group, Optimal Power Networks, Stark Infra-Electricity, UK Power Distribution, Utility Assets, and Vattenfall.
