These terms cover the outages.uk premium console and API (console.outages.uk and api.outages.uk premium features). The free map and free-tier API are covered by our Privacy & Legal page instead.

The service

outages.uk's premium tier lets you register business assets and receive alerts when a live power outage affects a registered location. Outage data is aggregated from public electricity network operator feeds, as described on our About page — it is the operators' own data, not ours, and we don't guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness.

Accounts and workspaces

A workspace is created by its first user (the Owner) and may invite other users as Admins or Members. The Owner is responsible for who they invite and for the workspace's billing. Anyone signing in must accept these terms individually, whether they created the workspace or were invited into it.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to circumvent rate limits, resell or republish the underlying operator data without the attribution each operator's licence requires, or use the service in a way that disrupts it for other customers. We may suspend or terminate an account, without notice, if we reasonably believe it's being used to break these rules.

Alerts are not an emergency service

Alerts are a convenience notification, delivered on a best-effort basis. They are not guaranteed to be timely, complete, or delivered at all — network issues, a webhook endpoint being unreachable, or an operator's own feed being delayed can all mean an alert never arrives or arrives late. For a genuine power emergency, always call 105, not this service.

Fees and billing

Premium pricing is shown at signup. Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. We'll give reasonable notice before any price change takes effect for existing customers.

Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from missed, late, or incorrect outage information or alerts, including any consequential business loss.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
